POYERS HOTEL
WRAFTON

Poyers Hotel, Wrafton
Built c.1540, it has spent most of its existence as a farmhouse. However, sometime in the 19th century the house became the local inn. The local port of Velator meant that sailors, especially Dutch,, frequented the Inn. "Poyer" is derived from the Dutch word for pimp or brothel keeper so it is possible that other trades were carried on here !!
