ST MARY THE VIRGIN
LITTLE WAKERING

The nave was built in the 11th century.  The tower was erected by Bishop Wakering of Norwich in 1416 in gratitude to god for the safety given at the Battle of Agincourt.  The church contains a rood loft staircase and an ancient whipping post.  A George 111 royal arms hatchment dating from 1768 is also on view.
