ST CATHERINE'S CHURCH
CROOK
This church was built in 1843 by Ignatius Bonomi.
In 1877, due to the quickly expanding population of the area, a south aisle was added and the roof raised by six feet.
In 1885 the sacrarium was extended to include a chancel for a choir, the north side of the chancel was increased to add room for an organ, and a vestry for the clergy was added to the south chancel.
In 1920 an oak screen was added in memory of those killed in the first world war. |
