GLAMIS CASTLE The nucleus of the present castle, rebuilt in the late 17th century, is a 15th century tower said to contain a secret chamber known only to the Earl of Strathmore and his heir. Queen Elizabeth the queen mother is descended from the Strathmore family and Princess Margaret was born in the castle in 1930. |
