Originally built around 1670, it
stood for over 300 years in Hockley Road Rayleigh. A mill workers cottage, with four
rooms, timber frame, wattle and daub walls with weatherboarding. In 1984 it was
donated to the park after the thatch was destroyed by fire. It was dismantled and
moved to Pitsea where it was carefully restored, repaired and re-thatched.
