CHELMSFORD CATHEDRAL There was a church on this site in 1086 but the present building was completed in 1424. In 1565 a storm destroyed parts of the south and west, and in 1800 grave diggings brought down the roof and some of the walls. Many additions have been made to the building over the years and in 1913 it became a cathedral. |
