The flint exterior of the church
was re-built in 1873. The metal work on the pulpit and lectern is also
Victorian. The interior of the church is, however, older. The nave arcades
show good 14th century decoration, and the six posts with bracing and trellis which
support the shingle spire are a fine example of Essex carpentry.
